Stenosis & Strictures

Constrictions of internal organs, e.g. the trachea or urethra, are called stenoses. If the narrowing is severe and pathological, it is probably a stricture. Since a stenosis can be caused by a variety of triggers, diagnosis and treatment options are also diverse.

There are numerous endoscopic minimally invasive procedures available to loosen the stenosis, such as balloon dilation, stent placement, papillotomy or drainage.
